Open House: A Great Time! PDF Print E-mail
Guests enjoying food and conversation

This last Sunday, February 10th, 2008, was our first Open House which also acted as our “grand opening”. We had a lovely turnout of people across the spectrum, from pastors of Mill Creek Foursquare Church in Lynnwood, to students and friends of the ministry from the University District and everyone in between. It was a joy to share our new office space and our vision with each one as they came to visit us.

We want to thank all those who attended for making it such a wonderful afternoon.

Steve Sprague

We wish to give special thanks to Steve Sprague, who made the entire day possible with his remodeling work from September through January. Although any remodel can be costly, Small Beginnings saved at least ten thousand dollars due to Steve donating all of his labor to the project.

Randy Ramos provided all of the paint and he and his wife spent considerable time doing a terrific painting job.  Susie Rodriguez and the Sprague kids joined in and with everyone helping, we were able to get it all done. For those that could not attend and see the remodel video in person, click here to view the video online.

Upcoming Events and Projects

    Annual Community Passover Seder

April 19th, 2008 is our Annual Community Passover Seder. We will be notifying all those on our email list when our online registration forms are available. Last year was so successful and drew so many people that, unfortunately, we had to turn people away. We have decided to rent the largest room available in the Edmonds Conference Center which seats a maximum of 220 people.

Please let your churches, home groups, friends and family know about this event. All are welcome. We would love to see all of you there! Since it will be a much bigger event this year, we would appreciate hearing from those of you who would like to volunteer to set up before and clean up after the event. Many hands make light work!

    Courtyard Cleanup!

After Passover, during Spring or Summer (the date will be announced) we intend to have a day for volunteers to come and help us clean up the courtyard of dead plants and amend the soil for our landscaping project. Our hope is to make our outside space inviting for guests, students and clients as they join us for BBQ’s, indoor/outdoor events, as well as groups who would like to enjoy the warm summer days outside. Counseling sessions under the shade of a tree sound especially wonderful, don’t they? All volunteers will receive a Small Beginnings T-Shirt and we’ll provide the pizza and pop. More details to come!

We are excited to see what God will do this coming year in our students. clients and community. May God bless you as you serve Him.
